Press C and read the mastery badge on the selected car. M1 is mastery level 1. Switching from an Orso 4 at M2 to a Freccia HF can show that Freccia at M1 with 0/300 XP. Finish a stage in the car you want to develop, then read the mastery panel and New Parts on the rewards screen.
One Freccia HF Alpine Pass finish reached mastery level 2, 154/400 XP, and listed Street Turbo Kit. The account bar on that same screen was level 5, 154/340 XP. Remaining mastery XP was 400 minus 154. Orso 4's M1 bar has displayed both 0/300 and 0/800, so one denominator is not the rule for every car.

Orso 4 examples
These rating changes were recorded from the stock D 279 Orso 4. They are not a promise for a different car.
| Part | Rarity | Rating change |
|---|---|---|
| Twin-Turbo Flat-Six Swap | Legendary engine | 279 to 668 |
| Sequential gearbox | Epic, tier 3 | 279 to 320 |
| Rally Brakes | Rare, tier 2 | 279 to 292 |
| Tarmac Coilovers | Common, tier 1 | 279 to 284 |
The engine swap in that comparison moved 0-100 km/h from 9.4 seconds to 4.3 seconds and top speed from 143 km/h to 245 km/h. The garage spec panel for a stock Orso 4 lists 149 km/h, so the 143 figure belongs to the before-swap comparison, not a second stock car.
Compound
| Surface | Compound |
|---|---|
| Snow | Snow Studs |
| Dirt or gravel | Gravel Compound, or Mud Compound when the stage is muddy |
| Paved road | Tarmac Slick |
| Also in the menu | Soft Compound |
Pick the surface, not the rarity color. Higher mastery parts were described in a garage walkthrough as the stronger options in a given list. Read the rating delta on the part before you spend the credits.
